Giroud's red-card appeal rejects by FA

          


           Following a Football Association regulatory commission hearing on Tuesday, Olivier Giroud has had his claim for wrongful dismissal rejected.

           The Arsenal striker was dismissed for serious foul play during the game against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, April 20.

           The player's three-match suspension will therefore commence with immediate effect.

     Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ruled out bringing Alex Song back to the Emirates Stadium, and has urged the midfielder to continue plugging away at Barcelona.

       "He is a quality player and sometimes the players have to insist when it doesn't go well and not change his mind too soon."
